Game Rules
- Objective: beat the dealer by having a higher hand value without going over 21.
- You lose if your hand is lower than the dealer's or if you go over 21.
- Card ranking: 2-10 are their face value. Jack, Queen, and King all count as 10. An Ace can count as 11 or 1.
- If your hand exceeds 21 and you hold an Ace, the Ace automatically counts as 1.
- Minimum players: 2 (1 player plus the dealer).
- Blackjack is played with a simulated 8-deck shoe that is reshuffled after every round.
- Players start by placing an ante bet, along with any optional side bets.
- After all players have placed bets, cards are dealt to each player from the dealer's left to right, ending with the dealer.
- The dealer deals one card face up to each player, then one card face down to themselves, followed by a second card face up to each player, then a second card face up to themselves.
- The player closest to the dealer's left is then given the option to hit, stand, double down, or split.
- If the player hits, the dealer deals them another card. The player then totals their hand and chooses to hit again or stand. A player may keep hitting until they stand or go over 21.
- When a player stands, they receive no more cards and play passes to the next player (left to right).
- If the player doubles down, they place an additional bet equal to their ante and receive exactly one more card. The player then automatically stands, ending their turn.
- If a player is dealt two cards of the same value, they have the option to split. Splitting requires a second wager equal to the original bet; the two cards are separated into two independent hands, and each hand is dealt one additional card. The player then chooses to hit or stand on the first hand — hitting deals another card until they stand or go over 21 — before repeating the process for the second hand.
- Once all players have stood or gone over 21, the dealer reveals their face-down card and continues drawing until their hand totals 17 or more, or they go over 21.
- The player's and dealer's hands are then compared to determine the outcome.
- Re-splitting and doubling down on split hands are not currently offered. We hope to add this feature in the future.
- A winning hand is paid 3:2.
- Insurance: if the dealer's up card is an Ace, players may take insurance — a bet that the dealer has 21 when their other card is revealed. Insurance pays 2:1 if the dealer has 21; the bet is lost if they don't.
- 21+3: this side bet combines your two cards with the dealer's face-up card to form a three-card poker hand. Payouts: Flush 5:1, Straight 10:1, Three of a Kind 30:1, Straight Flush 40:1, Suited Three of a Kind 100:1.
- Perfect Pairs: this side bet pays if your first two cards form a pair. Payouts: Mixed Pair (same value) 5:1, Colored Pair (same value and suit color) 10:1, Perfect Pair (same value and suit) 30:1.
