Game Rules
- Objective: beat the dealer's five-card poker hand. You play only against the dealer, not against other players.
- Card ranking from high to low: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. An Ace can also act as a 1 in the lowest straight (A-2-3-4-5). Suits don't rank.
- Played with a single 52-card deck that is reshuffled after every round.
- To start, place an Ante and press Deal. Your Ante is the only bet you make before seeing your cards.
- You get five cards face up. The dealer also gets five, but only the dealer's first card is turned face up. The other four stay hidden until the showdown.
- Now you decide. Fold, and your Ante is lost. Or Raise: make a bet of exactly two times your Ante. A Raise is only available if you have enough balance to cover it.
- If you fold, the dealer's hidden cards are never shown. If you raise, they are all turned over.
- The dealer qualifies with Ace-King high or better (that is, Ace-King high or any pair or better). The dealer qualifies on about 56.3% of hands.
- If the dealer does not qualify, your Ante pays 1:1 and your Raise is returned to you. The dealer's hand and yours aren't compared.
- If the dealer qualifies and your hand is higher, your Ante pays 1:1 and your Raise pays according to the Raise pay table below. If the hands tie, both bets push. If the dealer's hand is higher, you lose both bets.
- Hand ranking, high to low: Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, High Card. Hands of the same type are compared by their highest cards.
- Raise pay table (paid on your Raise when you win against a qualifying dealer): Royal Flush 100:1, Straight Flush 50:1, Four of a Kind 20:1, Full House 7:1, Flush 5:1, Straight 4:1, Three of a Kind 3:1, Two Pair 2:1, One Pair or less 1:1.
- Strategy: raise with any pair or better and fold everything else. The one hand without a pair that is ever close is Ace-King high, where the dealer's up card helps decide it. Learning mode shows the exact odds for your hand and the dealer's up card, and the Learn course has a practice mode with a coach.
- House edge: with perfect play the house keeps about 5.2% of your Ante on average (about 2.6% of everything you put in play, since a Raise puts up two more Antes).
- Ante limits: the minimum Ante is 1 and the maximum is 2,500. Gold Coins and Diamonds each have their own balance, and you can switch between them between hands.
