Game Rules

• Objective: guess whether the next card will be higher or lower than the card showing, build up a multiplier with every right guess, and cash out before you get one wrong.
• The cards: ranks run from Ace (lowest) up to King (highest): A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K. Suits don't matter. Every card is drawn from a full, freshly shuffled deck, so each card is independent of the ones before it, and the same rank can come up twice in a row.
• Placing a bet: enter your bet amount and press Bet. The bet is taken as the round starts and a starting card is turned over. Gold Coins and Diamonds each have their own balance, and you can switch between them between rounds.
• Guessing: press Higher or Lower. The two buttons show your chance of winning that guess and the multiplier it adds. A right guess adds to your multiplier and the new card becomes the card you guess from. A wrong guess ends the round and you lose your bet.
• Higher or Same, Lower or Same: a card of the same rank as the one showing still wins. With a 7 showing, Higher or Same wins on 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q or K (7 chances in 13), and Lower or Same wins on A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 (also 7 in 13).
• Aces and Kings: on an Ace, Higher or Same would win every time, so the guess becomes plain Higher and only wins on a card above an Ace (12 in 13). The other guess on an Ace is Equal: it wins only if another Ace comes (1 in 13). A King works the same way the other way up: Lower wins on any card below a King (12 in 13) and Equal wins only on another King (1 in 13).
• The multiplier: each guess pays 0.99 divided by its chance of winning, so every guess returns 99% of what it risks on average. Your multiplier is all your right guesses multiplied together. For example a 7 showing and a Higher or Same guess adds 1.84x. If the next card is a 9, a Lower or Same guess there adds 1.43x, and your multiplier is now 2.63x. The smaller the chance you take, the bigger the multiplier it adds, up to 12.87x for a guess on a single rank.
• Cashing out: after at least one right guess you can cash out at any time and receive your bet multiplied by your current multiplier. The round then ends. Guessing again puts your whole winnings at risk.
• Skip: if you don't like the card, press Skip card for a new one. Skipping is free and doesn't change your multiplier. You can skip up to 52 times in a round, and you can skip before your first guess or between guesses.
• Maximum win: a round pays at most 100,000. If your winnings reach that, the round cashes out for you automatically.
• Return to player: every guess returns about 99% on average, so the house edge is 1% on each guess you make. That means the more guesses you make in a round, the more the edge adds up: the expected return after 3 guesses is about 97%. Your results on any single round can be far above or below that.
• Shortcuts on a keyboard: the Up arrow for Higher, the Down arrow for Lower, S for Skip card and C for Cash out.
• Not offered: auto play.
