Game Rules

  • Objective: make the best five-card poker hand you can. You play alone against a paytable, not against a dealer or other players, and every winning hand pays a multiple of your bet.
  • Choose your game: pick Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild or Double Double Bonus above the paytable before you deal. All three play the same way; they differ in the paytable and in the cards that are wild. You can change game between hands, not during one.
  • Placing a bet: type your bet amount (or use the ½, 2× and Max buttons) and press Deal. There is one bet per hand and it is taken as the hand is dealt. Gold Coins and Diamonds each have their own balance, and you can switch between them between hands.
  • The deal: you are dealt five cards from a freshly shuffled 52-card deck. The five reels spin and lock in one after another.
  • Hold and draw: choose which cards to keep by pressing the HOLD button under each card (or tapping the card, or pressing 1 to 5 on a keyboard). Press Draw and every card you did not hold is replaced by the next card from the deck. You get one draw only.
  • Payout: after the draw, your five cards are paid by the paytable shown for the game you chose. The payout is your bet multiplied by the number next to your hand. A hand that is not on the paytable loses your bet.
  • Hand rankings: Royal Flush (10, J, Q, K, A of one suit), Straight Flush (five in a row of one suit), Four of a Kind, Full House (three of a kind and a pair), Flush (five of one suit), Straight (five in a row), Three of a Kind, Two Pair, and a Pair of Jacks or better. Aces count high or low in a straight (A-2-3-4-5 and 10-J-Q-K-A).
  • Jacks or Better: a standard deck with no wild cards. The lowest paying hand is a pair of Jacks or higher, which pays 1×. Royal Flush 800×, Straight Flush 50×, Four of a Kind 25×, Full House 9×, Flush 6×, Straight 4×, Three of a Kind 3×, Two Pair 2×. This is the 9/6 table and returns about 99.54% with perfect play.
  • Deuces Wild: every 2 is wild and counts as any card you need. The lowest paying hand is Three of a Kind, which pays 1×. Natural Royal Flush 800×, Four Deuces 200×, Wild Royal Flush 25×, Five of a Kind 16×, Straight Flush 10×, Four of a Kind 4×, Full House 4×, Flush 3×, Straight 2×, Three of a Kind 1×. This is the full-pay table and returns about 99.73% with perfect play. A Natural Royal Flush has no deuces in it.
  • Double Double Bonus: a standard deck with extra pay for Four of a Kind. Royal Flush 800×; Four Aces with a 2, 3 or 4 as the fifth card 400×; Four 2s, 3s or 4s with an Ace, 2, 3 or 4 as the fifth card 160×; Four Aces 160×; Four 2s, 3s or 4s 80×; Straight Flush 50×; Four 5s through Kings 50×; Full House 9×; Flush 6×; Straight 4×; Three of a Kind 3×; Two Pair 1×; Jacks or Better 1×. This is the 9/6 table and returns about 98.98% with perfect play.
  • Return to player: the percentages above are what each game returns over millions of hands if you make the best hold choice every time. Choosing worse holds lowers it. Your results on any one hand or session can be far above or below that.
  • Every hand is dealt from a newly shuffled deck. The cards are decided the moment you press Deal, and the spinning reels only show what was already decided. Earlier hands don't change the next one, and a machine is never "due" to pay.
  • Controls: Space or Enter deals and draws, and 1 to 5 hold or release the cards.
  • This is a local demo with play chips. Nothing is saved or sent to a server, so refreshing the page resets your balances.
